During Early Access, Hearthsay does not clone a loved one’s voice or generate audio in a loved one’s voice, and does not use your recordings for public AI training, voice cloning, or impersonation.
What Hearthsay is for
Hearthsay is a family memory and reflection app. It does not provide medical, mental health, therapy, legal, financial, religious, or emergency advice.
Generated voice is synthetic
Generated audio may sound familiar, but it is synthetic and AI-generated from saved memories. It is not the real person speaking in the present.
Consent comes first
You must have permission to upload, store, transcribe, or generate voice-based memories for another person.
Memorial profiles
For memorial profiles, users must confirm they have appropriate rights, authority, or family permission to manage the profile. Hearthsay may require additional verification before enabling synthetic voice playback.
No impersonation
Users may not use Hearthsay to impersonate someone, deceive others, solicit money, create public voice models, make phone calls, commit fraud, generate endorsements, or create political or commercial content in another person’s voice.
Songs and lullabies
Hearthsay does not generate songs or make a loved one sing copyrighted music. You can save and play original family recordings, including songs they actually recorded.
How voice profiles are built
Hearthsay does not use public videos or third-party voices to create voice profiles without permission. Voice profiles are built from consented recordings and approved memories.
Speech-Style Memory
Hearthsay does not recreate a person, replace grief support, or generate messages from someone without consent. It preserves user-provided memories and speech patterns from consented recordings, and every answer is grounded in saved source material.
