Hearthsay MCP

Bring Hearthsay to your favorite AI.

Hearthsay MCP is for families who want to bring their approved memory vault into their favorite AI assistant. You stay in control. Assistants can only access the people, memories, and tools you approve.

Beta

MCP lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other compatible assistants access your approved Hearthsay memories with your permission. The AI runs in the assistant or provider you choose; Hearthsay provides the secure memory vault and tools.

Hearthsay MCP lets approved AI assistants access your family memory vault with your permission. Ask from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or other compatible tools while keeping Hearthsay as the trusted source of family memories.

Use Hearthsay inside compatible AI assistants through MCP. MCP connects your assistant to Hearthsay; it does not use an assistant’s subscription inside the app. Inside Hearthsay, answers come from your saved memories.

1. What is Hearthsay MCP?

A bridge from your memory vault to your assistant

Hearthsay MCP is a small, permissioned server that exposes your approved family memories OUT to MCP-compatible AI assistants. You stay in control of what is shared.

2. What can it access?

Only what you approve

An assistant can reach the people, memories, and tools you allow — and nothing else. Consent, roles, and revocation are always enforced.

Vaults you belong to
Loved-one profiles with verified consent
Approved, source-backed memories
Future message drafts you allow
3. How permissions work

Scopes, consent, logging, and revocation

  1. 01

    You approve scopes

Each connection is granted only the scopes you choose — reading vaults, searching memories, asking for advice, or drafting future messages.

  2. 02

    Consent is always respected

Loved-one profiles without verified consent, and revoked profiles, are never exposed. Synthetic voice stays locked.

  3. 03

    Every call is logged

Each tool call is recorded so you can see what an assistant accessed and when. Nothing happens quietly.

  4. 04

    You can revoke anytime

Turn off a connection from your settings and the assistant immediately loses access to your vault.

The six MCP scopes
  • vaults:readSee the family vaults you can access.
  • loved_ones:readSee loved-one profiles and their consent permissions (revoked profiles stay hidden).
  • memories:searchSearch your approved memories by topic or words.
  • memories:read_sourcesRead source titles, transcript excerpts, dates, and signed audio when allowed.
  • advice:askAsk a question and receive a source-backed, AI-generated answer with its sources.
  • future_messages:create_draftDraft a future message (never schedule or send without your approval) and list existing ones.
4. How to connect

Three steps to connect

  1. 1

    Create a connection in Hearthsay

From your settings, create an MCP connection and choose which scopes to allow. Hearthsay issues a secure access token.

  2. 2

    Add Hearthsay to your assistant

Point your MCP-compatible assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another — at the Hearthsay MCP server and paste your token.

  3. 3

    Ask from your memories

Your assistant can now use the approved tools to ask from your family memory vault, with Hearthsay as the trusted source.

5. Available tools

The eight available tools

Each tool requires the scope shown. Assistants can only call the tools your connection allows.

list_vaultsvaults:read

List the family vaults the authenticated user can access.

list_loved_onesloved_ones:read

List loved-one profiles for a selected vault, excluding revoked profiles.

get_consent_statusloved_ones:read

Read the consent permissions for a loved-one profile.

search_memoriesmemories:search

Search approved memories by text (vector search later).

get_memory_sourcesmemories:read_sources

Return source titles, transcript excerpts, dates, and signed audio URLs when allowed.

ask_memoryadvice:ask

Return a source-backed answer with confidence, source memory IDs, a safety label, and an AI-generated disclosure.

create_future_messagefuture_messages:create_draft

Create a DRAFT future message only; never schedule or send without explicit approval.

list_future_messagesfuture_messages:create_draft

List the future messages for a vault or loved one.

6. Safety limits

Safety limits on every call

  • Answers are source-backed or say there is not enough recorded memory.
  • No scripted impersonation; an assistant cannot make a loved one say arbitrary text.
  • Revoked or unverified loved-one profiles are never exposed.
  • Signed audio URLs are returned only when you have permitted them.

7. Revoke access anytime

You can revoke any MCP connection from your settings at any time. The moment you do, the assistant loses access to your vault. Your memories always belong to your family.
